Simon of the Desert is Luis Buñuel’s wicked and wild take on the life of devoted ascetic Saint Simeon Stylites, who waited atop a pillar surrounded by a barren landscape for six years, six months, and six days, in order to prove his devotion to God. Yet the devil, in the figure of the beautiful Silvia Pinal, huddles below, trying to tempt him down. A skeptic’s vision of human conviction, Buñuel’s short and sweet satire is one of the master filmmaker’s most renowned works of surrealism.

2) SONG FOR 2008? Sigur Ros’ Festival

3) Longest friend of 2008 ? The usual suspects.

4) COOLEST NEWEST FRIEND of 2008? Not really new ones, just grew closer to a few.

5) HIGH POINT OF THE YEAR? The big Wedding in April. Graduating college. Kanye in April. Sigur Ros in September. Surrealism is still a part of my mind. Writing.

6) LOW POINT OF THE YEAR? Just trying to move ahead in these times.

7) BEST HOLIDAY? None more than the other.

8). BEST MOVIE 2008? The Dark Knight and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, so far.

9) WHO DID YOU SPEND VALENTINES WITH? Someone.

10) BEST RELATIONSHIP? Those who got married.

11) WHAT WERE YOU FOR HALLOWEEN? Not this year.
